The Picture Show Pundits is the culmination of several years of shared film obsession by founders Ray and Sarah Bonilla. Nourishing one another's various loves of writing, cinema, and academia, Sarah and Ray embarked on a journey that started pretty simply-- buying lots of DVDs, seeing lots of movies, and talking about them all the damn time.

Eventually, small time college criticism revealed an outlet for their obsession and, believing there was something lacking in most modern criticism, they began to review and grade movies with aplomb. A fortunate turn of events came about in late 2003 when Sarah and Ray found themselves writing for Smart-Popcorn.com, a website that happened to share some of their philosophies-- not the least of which was a dual grading system approaching film as both art and entertainment, separately.

We had to redo the entire website made by a previous coder. We ended up redesigning everything due to bad project integration and design. Because integrating phpBB2 forum was a requirement this entire website was build using it phpBB design.
